The Scarborough Discovery Drive is an exciting new initiative that celebrates the local arts, culture and history of the Scarborough area.
Running over three different weekends during Guild Festival Theatre’s season, the Discovery Drive introduces participants to the food, artists, and locations that make Scarborough unique. Tours run on Saturday & Sunday July 27-August 11.
How it Works
Participants meet at the Guildwood GO station and board the Scarborough Discovery Drive bus. Hosted by one of GFT's ambassadors, the tours will visit local historical sites, feature performances and activities by Scarborough artists, and (of course!) sample some of Scarborough's renowned cuisine from local restaurants.
Each tour lasts approximately 2 hours and ends at the beautiful Guild Park & Gardens. Guests are encouraged to come see performances in the park after the tour as part of GFT’s ticketed summer season! A complimentary shuttle between Guildwood GO and Guild Park will be offered for Discovery Drive or season ticket holders before and after performances.
Tours will involve outdoor/indoor walking up to 20 minutes at a time at each site. Tour vehicles will provide low-steps for guests who need assistance in entering/exiting at each stop. Tour vehicles are NOT wheelchair accessible.
Tickets for the Scarborough Discovery Drive are pay-what-you-can (minimum $5) and must be booked in advance. Price includes site visits and restaurant samples. If you would like to participate and are experiencing difficulties with ticket prices, please contact us at info@guildfestivaltheatre.ca

FAQ
Where do we meet exactly?
The tour bus will pick up at the South Parking Lot of Guildwood GO station, 130 Westlake Road. You will see our tour guide waiting at the passenger pick up and drop off located at the east end of the South Parking Lot.
Where does the tour end?
All tours end at Guild Park & Gardens. If you need the bus to return you to the GO station, please let us know at the end of the tour.
I’m seeing a GFT show after, will the bus take me back to the station at the end of the show?
The Discovery Drive bus won’t be there after the show, but we have a free shuttle service on weekends back to Guildwood GO station for all GFT ticket holders! This must be booked in advance. Learn more through our “GO to the Park Shuttle” page.
Does the tour include a ticket to the show?
No. The Discovery Drive tour includes site visits and restaurant samples, but if you’re seeing a GFT show after, you must book your tickets separately.
I have dietary restrictions. How will that work with the restaurant samples?
If you have dietary restrictions, once you’ve booked your tour, please contact us as soon as possible, ideally 24 hours in advance of the tour date/time. We will do our best to accommodate you.
Can I bring my service dog?
Yes but we are required to review and note down your contact information and the service dog certification before you board. Please have these ready. Thank you!
Guests arriving via GO are encouraged to consult the departure times for the Lakeshore East route based on which station you are departing from. For help in planning your route, consult the train schedule on the GO website:
